Springtime is a season of wonder and new life. It is also a season of testing.

This time can be stressful on everyone in a learning community. It can also be an incredible time to celebrate the hard work and effort that students (and teachers) have put in since Day 1!

If your classroom is getting ready for an important event or an upcoming test, consider setting up a Flipgrid to share words of encouragement as students prepare for the big tasks ahead of them. Within your school community, have teachers, administrators, support staff and even district personnel share words of inspiration, good luck cheers, and best wishes.

Crestmore Elementary School in Bloomington, California recently collected Motivational Messages for their students before the big state test. Staff members shared positive messages reminding students how important they were and to try their best!

Yvette Mezzanatto invited families to join the fun and contribute their own motivational messages! She created a Topic, shared it with families in Class Dojo, and kept it a surprise for her students until it was time for their testing to begin. "This is my second year having parents create a motivational video for their child and their classmates. The students cry tears of joy and are always asking to watch them before we start the test on a daily basis."

An encouraging word can go a long way to boost spirits and is a great reminder of how proud we are of the scholars in our learning communities. If you are ready to do this in your own community, check out these launch-ready Topics that are already available in the Disco Library!

Testing season brings so many emotions. May it also bring a lot of positive reinforcement for the incredible work that has been done and celebrations for all of the learning that has taken place too! From one teacher to another, thank you for all you do to empower your scholars and amplify #StudentVoice.

See you on the Grid!
