What is Flipgrid? 💭

Flipgrid is the leading video discussion platform for millions of PreK to PhD educators, students, and families around the world. Flipgrid promotes fun and social learning by giving every student an equal and amplified voice on the Topics you define!

 

Flipgrid Basics 💻📱🖥

When you set up your account, you’ll first create a Grid for your learning community. Grids are the canvas you will use to post discussion Topics, to which your students will post short video Responses. That’s how they share their voice! Students can then view and Reply to each other’s Responses, infusing your class with a dose of social and emotional learning! Flipgrid is available on the web or via our Windows 10, iOS, or Android apps.

Flipgrid in High School Mathematics 📊📏

During In high school Math, students learn reasoning with expressions, equations, and inequalities, interpreting and building functions, and expressing geometric properties. Flipgrid provides a fun and social way to engage your students on any Math lesson! Here are a few ways that Flipgrid can ignite engagement and capture your students’ learning process:

⭐️ Explain geometric formulas and use them to solve problems
⭐️ Show how to extend the properties of exponents to rational exponents
⭐️
Perform arithmetic operations with complex numbers
⭐️
Use polynomial identities to solve problems
⭐️
Create equations to represent relationships between quantities
⭐️
Prove formulas for sine, cosine, and tangent
⭐️
Demonstrate relationships between two- and three-dimensional objects

Once you’re ready to create your first discussion Topic, you can dive right in from your Educator Admin or head to the Disco Library for inspiration.
